ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Industries, Production, and National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain on Wednesday underscored the necessity of granting new Pakistani agricultural products access to the American market.

During a meeting with United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome, Hussain expressed his appreciation for the ongoing US cooperation, particularly highlighting the Research and Endowment Fund for the Agricultural University. He stressed that the government is keen on strengthening agricultural cooperation with the US, and stressed the critical need for technology transfer to boost production levels.

Blome responded by affirming America's commitment to continued cooperation in Pakistan's social and agricultural sectors. He highlighted ongoing collaborations with organisations like the United Nations Children's Fund on food deficiency programmes within Pakistan. The ambassador further stated that the US is committed to enhancing its support for Pakistan in the agricultural sector and will assist in addressing the impacts of climate change on agriculture.
