IShowSpeed, a prominent YouTuber known for his high-energy and often controversial content, has been banned from YouTube following a daring stunt.
On 3 August, IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., streamed himself jumping over two luxury cars, a Lamborghini and a McLaren, despite providing disclaimers urging viewers not to replicate the stunt.
YouTube cited this as a violation of their Community Guidelines, resulting in a temporary ban on his main channel, which boasts over 27 million subscribers.
On 6 August, IShowSpeed addressed his community via a video, confirming the temporary ban and expressing his regret. "Hey guys, if y’all are watching this right now, I'm banned on YouTube on my main channel. I cannot stream or do anything, guys. I just wanted to let y'all know. I love y'all," he said.
Slipz, Speed's cameraman, shared a screenshot on X (formerly Twitter) showing the strike on the channel for violating Active Community Guidelines.
The ban, reportedly lasting two weeks, restricts Speed from streaming or uploading new content, although his past videos remain accessible. Speed is appealing the strike.
This incident has sparked speculation among fans that he might return to Twitch, which lifted his permanent ban in 2023.
