In an interview with Empire, director Shawn Levy and star Ryan Reynolds discussed the creative decisions behind Deadpool & Wolverine. Originally, the film included a scene where Deadpool interrupted Logan's emotional reunion with Laura while searching for s'mores. Levy explained that the goal was to "[earn] Wolverine’s presence in this movie and [give] Hugh a Logan to play that he hasn’t quite played." Reynolds added, "I feel that Deadpool is a really wonderful supporting character. Any time there’s an opportunity to take him out of a scene organically and just let things breathe for a bit is really important to me. Let’s let this be about Laura and Logan."

The release of the ADR session video coincides with the promotion of Deadpool & Wolverine. Fans can view the video and a new poster for the film on Marvel Studios' social media. The Instagram post includes the caption, "The guy with forks for hands?šŸ“#DeadpoolAndWolverine inspired art by @rafbanzuela. Get tickets now."
