JoJo Siwa claims Candace Cameron Bure was the ‘Rudest Celebrity’ she ever met
JoJo Siwa has made it clear that Candace Cameron Bure will not be a guest on her iHeartRadio podcast due to their past disagreements. On the latest episode of her podcast, the 21-year-old musician discussed individuals she would never invite on her show, with Bure topping the list.
Fans may remember the public dispute between Siwa and Bure, which began in July 2022 when Siwa referred to Bure as the "rudest celebrity" she had ever met in a TikTok post. Siwa explained, "I thought Candace Cameron was the rudest celebrity I'd ever encountered. I met her, and she wasn't friendly." She clarified that while she found Bure rude, it did not mean she believed Bure to be a terrible person overall.
Reflecting on the incident, Siwa described her original TikTok as "stupid and messy" and expressed no lingering animosity toward Bure. However, she maintained that she would not feature Bure on her podcast, stating, "I just wouldn't have her on my podcast." Siwa added that if she ever encountered Bure again, she would avoid greeting her.
The tension between the two escalated after Bure's November 2022 interview with The Wall Street Journal, in which Bure expressed her intention to focus on traditional marriage with the Great American Family channel. Siwa, who came out in April 2021, interpreted Bure's remarks as dismissive of LGBTQ marriage, leading to further confrontation. On her podcast, Siwa stated, "I thought Bure's remarks implied that LGBTQ marriage is not traditional American marriage and that she didn't want to publicize gay marriage."
Bure responded to the backlash from her Wall Street Journal interview with an Instagram statement, asserting her love and respect for all people.
JoJo Siwa, known for her singing, dancing, and acting, gained fame through her participation in the reality show Dance Moms alongside her mother, Jessalynn Siwa, in 2015 and 2016.
