The Matrix isn’t the only thing he has mastered.

Keanu Reeves is an icon - this is a universal opinion. Pretty much a fact at this point.

He’s undeniably cool and his style is timeless. Whether he's gracing the red carpet or casually spotted on city streets, Reeves' fashion choices reflect humility and versatility.

Notably, he has maintained a consistent wardrobe since his rise to fame more than 25 years ago, which we say in the most complementary way.

The world of men’s fashion is still dominated (for the most part) by crisp shirts and double-breasted suits, Reeves remains true to his staples: rumpled suede jackets, his iconic black beanie, and rugged lace-up motorcycle boots over polished dress shoes or loafers. He’s the king of hipster style and has been sporting current trends before they hit the mainstream.

Grunge with a hint of cyberpunk is his aesthetic and rivals that of Johnny Depp and Kurt Cobain’s style. This distinctive style earned him a spot on GQ's 2020 Best-Dressed Men list at No. 6, alongside Timothée Chalamet and Brad Pitt.

In 2019, Reeves cemented his fashion credentials as one of the faces of Saint Laurent, with creative director Anthony Vaccarello dressing him in layers of black for the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2019 campaign.

Intriguingly, Reeves' style often feels like an unconscious choice, yet it comes off as a well thought out look that resonates deeply with his persona.

Reeves often opts for classic, well-tailored suits when attending formal events. His preference for dark hues like black and navy blue complements his understated elegance. A notable example is his appearance at a special screening of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum in London, where he donned a sleek black suit paired with a simple black tie with his signature hiker style in a pair of black Grenson Brady hiker boots with criss-cross laces, exuding sophistication and a touch of mystery.

Reeves' personal style is as relevant as ever, coinciding with the fashion world’s nostalgia for the '90s. While the broader trend has seen a resurgence of interest in era-specific menswear staples—think Vêtements' takes on stonewashed jeans and graphic patterned tees—Reeves has remained steadfast in his uniform: relaxed tailoring paired with a black T-shirt and brown boots.

This look has become his signature on countless red carpets, late-night TV appearances, airport strolls, and even during those contemplative moments on park benches. His knack for maintaining a just-rolled-out-of-bed effortless charm ensures that his ensemble remains appealingly unstudied rather than merely dishevelled.

Accessories are another subtle yet essential aspect of Reeves' style. He often opts for simple, functional items like sunglasses and beanies, enhancing his overall look without overshadowing his natural charisma. His minimalist approach to accessories reflects his practical yet stylish ethos.

No one really knows if Keanu dresses the way he does because he doesn't care, or if he's trying and failing at some kind of effortless style. Regardless, he looks good! We all have a thing or two to learn from the successful Hollywood actor; one’s self worth and value should not be solely tied to their outward appearance and presentation.
