PTI’s Raoof Hasan released from Adiala Jail after bail approval
Raoof Hasan, the central spokesperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been released from Adiala Jail following the approval of his bail by an anti-terrorism court on Tuesday.
Hasan was accompanied by advocates Shaista Khosa and Raja Yasir as he left Adiala Jail, Express News reported.
Earlier, the Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court issued the release order for Hasan.
It is worth noting that on August 3, the Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court sent PTI spokesperson Raoof Hasan to jail on judicial remand in a terrorism case involving the recovery of explosive materials by the CTD police station, while the police had requested his physical remand.
Subsequently, lawyer Ali Bukhari filed a petition to transfer Hasan to a hospital on medical grounds, arguing that his health condition was not suitable for jail, and thus, he should be moved to a hospital.
The petition stated that Hasan was entitled to B-class facilities. The court directed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange a medical check-up and ensure appropriate medical arrangements for the PTI leader.
After the hearing, Hasan's lawyer also filed a post-arrest bail application, for which the court issued notices for August 6.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra remarked, "The record has come to me several times; if the record is not presented, I will make a decision."
Previously, on August 2, Magistrate Abbas Shah had approved Hasan's bail in a case filed under the PECA Act.
