Deadpool & Wolverine has significantly increased the MCU's f-bomb count with 118 uses, surpassing previous records.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has ventured into R-rated territory with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, significantly increasing its f-bomb count. The film features 118 uses of the expletive, bringing the MCU's total to 119, according to Discussing Film. This surpasses the previous record held by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which included the MCU's first f-bomb.

The increased profanity is a stark departure from the relatively clean language typically maintained by Marvel Studios. Captain America's stance on language in Avengers: Age of Ultron is notably abandoned in this film. Deadpool & Wolverine’s profanity tally also exceeds that of Deadpool 2 and Logan, with the latter featuring 54 uses of the word.

Discussing Film's tally highlights the extensive use of the f-word in Deadpool & Wolverine. Hugh Jackman, reprising his role as Wolverine, reportedly enjoyed the freedom to use the expletive more liberally. The film's colorful language includes phrases such as "husk-fked," "chest-fked," and "f**kbox."

While Deadpool & Wolverine sets a new standard for the MCU, it still falls short compared to other films renowned for their heavy use of profanity. Seth Rogen’s films, including Sausage Party and Superbad, as well as Kevin Smith’s Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, are noted for their frequent use of the f-word. Martin Scorsese's Casino and The Wolf of Wall Street also far exceed Deadpool & Wolverine’s tally, with 422 and 569 uses, respectively.

Despite its record within the MCU, Deadpool & Wolverine doesn’t match the highest counts in cinematic history. The documentary F**k and the Canadian comedy Swearnet: The Movie lead with 857 and 935 uses, respectively.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theaters, continuing the tradition of the Merc with a Mouth’s unfiltered dialogue.
