Singer Kehlani's ex-partner, Javaughn Young-White, is seeking full custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Adeya Nomi, based on serious allegations regarding the singer's involvement in a cult. Young-White claims that the cult has a negative influence on Kehlani's parenting decisions and the well-being of their daughter.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Young-White details a series of concerning incidents that have fueled his fears for Adeya's safety. He alleges that the cult leader has poisoned Kehlani's perception of him, leading her to believe he poses a threat to their child. This has resulted in him being blocked from seeing Adeya for extended periods. Additionally, Young-White claims that Adeya is often left in the care of other cult members, including situations where she is bathed by strangers and allowed to sleep in their beds.

The most alarming allegation involves a female cult member, referred to as "Messiah," who Young-White claims takes baths with Adeya while under the influence of psychedelic drugs. He further alleges that the cult leader himself faces numerous accusations of sexual assault against women and young girls, raising serious concerns about the environment in which Adeya is being raised.

Despite attempts to communicate his concerns to Kehlani, Young-White claims that the singer has not only dismissed his worries but has also publicly disparaged him on social media. This has further fueled his determination to seek full custody of Adeya and ensure her safety and well-being.

Young-White's filing also reveals that his name is not on Adeya's birth certificate due to her home birth, which he alleges was orchestrated by the cult. He claims to have been requesting to be added to the birth certificate for five years without any response from Kehlani. Additionally, he states that he is unsure if Adeya even has a social security number, as Kehlani has allegedly refused to provide it to him.

This ongoing custody battle raises significant questions about parental rights, the influence of external groups on family dynamics, and the importance of prioritizing a child's safety and well-being above all else. While the court will ultimately decide the outcome of this case, Young-White's allegations paint a troubling picture of Kehlani's alleged involvement in a cult and the potential impact on her parenting decisions.
