The business community of Islamabad and Pakistan is committed to working harder to help the country emerge from its crisis, said Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ICCI) former president, Zafar Bakhtawari.
He was speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour, hosted by the Chairman/Editor-in-Chief of Daily Ittehad Media Group, to recognise his contribution to the ICCI. Industrialists, traders, former presidents of ICCI and the acting president of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) attended the event.
The Dean of diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atdjan Movlamov, appreciated the role of the business community and emphasised closer collaboration. He noted that TAPI project is progressing and highlighted the potential areas for cooperation between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, who served in Pakistan twice, shared the historic links between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, referring to centuries-old relations between South and Central Asia. He highlighted the significant opportunities awaiting Pakistani businesses and commended the vibrant efforts of Ethiopia's Ambassador Jamal Bekar Abdullah, who praised Zafar Bakhtawari’s role during the early days of the Ethiopian embassy's opening in Islamabad.
Algerian Ambassador Brahim Romoni stated that the business community is the backbone of the country’s economy. Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Yerzahan Kistafin acknowledged the positive role of the Pakistan’s business society and Bakhtawari’s role as exemplary.
