The wait for Heartstopper Season 3 is almost over, with just two months until its Netflix release.
To build anticipation, Netflix has unveiled a sneak peek featuring the beloved couple, Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor). This preview highlights the continued evolution of their relationship following Nick's public coming out in the Season 2 finale, where they vowed mutual support during tough times.
In the preview, the scene is set at Truham Grammar School, where Nick, beaming, walks down the hallway and spots Charlie. The two embrace warmly, with Charlie standing on his tiptoes.
When Nick wonders why there wasn't a kiss, Charlie responds with, "hug first." This heartwarming exchange aligns with the title of Season 3's first episode, "Love."
Heartstopper Season 2 premiered on Netflix in 2023, showcasing the deepening bond between Charlie and Nick. Throughout the season, Charlie becomes more open about his struggles with mental health and past bullying, while Nick supports him.
The season concluded with Nick's public coming out and various changes within their friend group. A cliffhanger left viewers eagerly awaiting more, as Charlie hesitated to send an emotional message to Nick.
Filming for Heartstopper Season 3 wrapped up in December 2023. As the release date approaches, Netflix has shared several preview images, hinting at sweet couple moments and potential relationship challenges for Nick and Charlie.
Rhea Norwood, who plays Imogen Heaney, hinted at darker themes in the upcoming season, with more mature topics being explored.
Series creator and writer Alice Oseman expressed excitement about this tonal shift on Netflix Tudum, stating that it will allow the characters to grow as they approach adulthood.
