LAHORE:

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said that the government is not against social media but "we are talking about rules and regulations

If the rules and regulations were made, the ban on the social media platform X would be removed, she said.

Talking to the media at Lahore High Court, she said no one was willing to fulfil any wish of the PTI founder.

She said there was no restriction on daydreaming, but the PTI founder should first admit that he had made a mistake. Answering a question, the minister said many countries had laws governing social media. In every country laws are made to solve the problems when freedom of expression is abused, she added. She said social media accounts are regulated all over the world.

"Digital terrorism is carried out through social media accounts. If the rules and regulations are made, the ban on X will be removed. All accounts must be governed by the rules and regulations," she added.

Azma Bokhari also said that solar panels would be provided to the consumers of 100 to 500 units monthly. "We are deeply concerned about the financial distress and mental discomfort of the people," the minister said.
