TJ Miller reignites feud with Ryan Reynolds, claims actor changed after Deadpool's success
TJ Miller has rekindled his feud with Ryan Reynolds, making critical comments about the actor in a recent episode of the "Help! with Natalie Cuomo" podcast. Miller, who played Weasel alongside Reynolds’ Deadpool, previously stated in 2022 that he "would not work with him again" after a "really weird moment" on the Deadpool set. Although Reynolds allegedly reached out to resolve the issue, Miller has reignited the conflict.
Miller also commented on Reynolds’ previous career, stating, "You first had Ryan Reynolds, everyone knew who he was but he had a lot of movies that were failures or just didn't do that well." He concluded, "That's just a different guy. A guy that's become that famous in a movie that is that funny, it just changes people."
This isn't the first time Miller has publicly criticized Reynolds. In a 2022 appearance on the "Adam Carolla Podcast," Miller said he wouldn't work with Reynolds again, recounting a moment on the Deadpool set where Reynolds, in character, was "horrifically mean" to him. Miller explained, "He was like, 'you know what's great about you, Weasel? You're not the star, but you do just enough exposition so that it's funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie'."
Despite these criticisms, Miller has also praised Reynolds, calling him a "great improviser" and acknowledging that Reynolds is the better comedian. After the 2022 podcast comments, Reynolds reportedly contacted Miller, describing the on-set situation as a "misunderstanding." Miller noted, "It was very cool for him to say 'hey, you know, I just heard on the show that you were upset about this'. And I kind of said, 'you know, I'm not' and then we sort of just hashed it out really quickly."
