Pete Davidson back in in-patient care for the eighth time amid PTSD and BPD concerns

Pete Davidson has entered a wellness center to focus on his mental health.

On Wednesday, July 31, People confirmed that the 30-year-old Saturday Night Live alumnus is taking a break to prioritize his health. 

This decision follows a series of over 200 live stand-up performances across the country, multiple film projects, and the release of his second Netflix comedy special, Turbo Fonzarelli, in January.

A source told People that mental health has "always been a priority" for the comedian, who has openly discussed his journey to sobriety during his tour, along with his struggles with borderline personality disorder and severe post-traumatic stress disorder.

Despite keeping busy with work this year, the source notes that Davidson has been concentrating on his sobriety, and his friends and family are very proud of his commitment to self-care.

Davidson recently sought treatment in the summer of 2023 to address concerns related to PTSD and borderline personality disorder.

At that time, a source informed People, "Pete frequently checks into rehab to address these issues. His friends and family have been very supportive throughout this period."

He spoke about the treatment during a comedy show with John Mulaney and Jon Stewart in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 2023.

“I am fresh out of rehab, everyone,” he announced to the audience at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Ettes Arena. “I got that post-rehab glow. Seventh time’s the charm!”

Davidson disclosed that he used ketamine, a dissociative drug that is medically used as an anesthetic, daily for four years.
