Two suspected street criminals arrested after police encounter

KARACHI:

The Chakiwara police arrested two suspected street criminals, including one in injured condition, following an alleged police encounter in Lyari late Monday night.

The injured suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Muzammil, son of Qasim, who was shifted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. The other suspect, Shahid alias Shaho, also arrested at the scene, is the son of Abdul Jabbar, known as Jabbar Langra, a Lyari gang war commander.

Police seized two pistols with ammunition, mobile phones, and cash from the suspects. Both suspects are linked to the Lyari gang war and have a history of involvement in street crimes such as snatching, theft, extortion, and other serious offenses.

Muzammil, a resident of Yusuf Haroon Road in Baghdadi area, was taken into custody at his home, where a pistol was also recovered. Shahid, a resident of Haroonia Mosque Road in Shah Baig Line, was arrested at his home the same night, with another handgun found in his possession. Shahid is the son of the late Abdul Jabbar, alias Jabbar Langra, a former commander of Uzair Baloch group.
