Mariah Carey and her twins had a memorable backstage meeting with Olivia Rodrigo during the Guts World Tour, shared via Instagram.
Mariah Carey, 55, shared new Instagram photos on Monday of her meeting Olivia Rodrigo backstage during the Guts World Tour. The "Fantasy" singer was joined by her 13-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, as they met the "Driver's License" star, 21.
Carey wore a sparkling dark gray T-shirt dress with colorful graphics, black tights, and knee-high boots. Her long hair flowed straight past her shoulders, and she accessorized minimally with flashy bracelets. Her makeup featured voluminous lashes, light eyeshadow, warm blush, and a nude satin lip tint.
Rodrigo wore a white cropped shirt with "Peace out! atown down" in orange lettering, glittering silver shorts, and sheer black tights with star patterns. She accessorized with various necklaces, and her brunette hair cascaded past her shoulders.
Carey's daughter, Monroe, wore an off-the-shoulder shirt supporting Rodrigo's tour and took a photo with the singer. Carey captioned her post, "We are OBSESSED with @oliviarodrigo," followed by fire and red heart emojis. She also shared a closer look at her ensemble on her Instagram stories.
Rodrigo previously expressed her admiration for Carey in a Wired interview last year. When asked if she is a "good singer," she responded, "I hope so! God, I'm no Mariah Carey or anything, but I'd like to think that I convey some emotion in my voice and that's what counts."
Rodrigo's recent performances included Oklahoma City and Kansas City, with her next stop in Denver on July 30. The Guts World Tour, supporting her second studio album, will continue through Asia and conclude in Sydney on October 22.
Carey, meanwhile, is busy with her Celebration of Mimi residency in Las Vegas, with upcoming performances through August and additional dates next year starting January 31, 2025.
