Indonesian envoy highlights Balochistan’s trade potential

Balochistan’s geostrategic position can play an important role in Pakistan’s geo-economy

Charge d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy to Pakistan, Rahmat Hindiarta Kusumahas, said that Balochistan’s crucial trade connection with Central Asian states (CARs) will prove to be important in enhancing mutual trade between Indonesia and Pakistan. He shared these insights during a visit to the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Balochistan Office, accompanied by his economic team.

Senior Vice Chairman of FPCCI, Haji Jamaluddin, and President of the Zhob Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with other business leaders, received Kusumahas and his team. Highlighting Balochistan’s strategic location, Kusumahas noted its proximity to both Central Asia and the Middle East, making it vital for future trade expansion.

“Balochistan’s geostrategic position can play an important role in Pakistan’s geo-economy,” Kusumahas stated. He reiterated Indonesia’s desire to strengthen economic and trade relations with Pakistan, pledging the Indonesian Embassy’s full support to the business communities in Pakistan.

Ongoing talks aim to promote new economic sectors for future trade between the two countries. Kusumahas stressed the importance of the private sector in bilateral trade and committed to maintaining close contact with all chambers of commerce and the business community in Balochistan.

During his visit to the Quetta dry-fruit market, Kusumahas expressed optimism about increasing trade in this sector between Pakistan and Indonesia. He assured that all efforts would be made to enhance bilateral trade, fostering stronger economic ties.
