Tickets allotted to families of ‘martyrs’

Late PTI activist’s widow’s name on list sent to ECP

PESHAWAR:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to give tickets to the families of party activists who were killed during the May 9 riots In 2023. These tickets were allotted on reserved seats for women in the national and provincial assemblies. A late party activist’s widow was issued a ticket, along with family members of others who have passed.

Yar Muhammad Niazi, who is in charge of the social media team of the chief minister, said that the founding chairman had ordered that certain “families of the martyrs should be given first priority on these seats”.

Following these instructions, K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur contacted the families of workers who were killed during the protest. A late PTI activist’s widow from Peshawar, Khushboo, asked the CM for a ticket, after which her name was included in the list of reserved seats and women.

The same list was sent to the Election Commission with Khushboo's name listed as number 13.
