Lea Michele Reveals Which Project She’s Most Excited to Share with Her Kids — It’s Not 'Glee'
Lea Michele is looking forward to sharing a special part of her career with her children, but it’s not her iconic role in Glee that she’s most excited about.
In an exclusive interview, the 37-year-old actress and singer, who is currently pregnant with her second child, opened up about her excitement for sharing her recent work with her family.
Michele, who is a mom to 3-year-old son Ever Leo and is expecting a daughter, revealed that the project she’s most thrilled to show her kids is her recent role in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl. Reflecting on her experience, Michele shared, “I just think that for me, at the forefront of my brain is having the experience of being in Funny Girl this past year.”
She recalled a memorable moment when her son attended one of her performances. “My son was able to come and see the show, and he sat through the entire show at 2½, which is pretty impressive,” Michele said. “It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.”
Michele added that the production was filmed for “the archives,” and she hopes that her daughter will someday watch the recording and learn that her brother was in the audience. “Maybe my daughter will watch that show in 15 years or whatever. That would be really incredible, to say like, ‘Your brother was in the audience and he watched it,’” she explained.
In addition to discussing her excitement for Funny Girl, Michele also talked about how her second pregnancy is different from her first. The actress, who welcomed her son during the COVID-19 pandemic, noted that this time around, she has had the opportunity to perform while pregnant. “One thing I didn’t get to do the first time around is perform while pregnant,” Michele said. “I got to do a couple of shows this year.”
She acknowledged that singing while pregnant is challenging but also incredibly rewarding. “Singing pregnant is extremely challenging,” Michele admitted. “But what a gift and what an amazing experience.”
Michele's candid reflections on her career and pregnancy highlight her enthusiasm for sharing these special moments with her growing family.
