Netflix is facing calls for a boycott after reports emerged that its co-founder, Reed Hastings, made a substantial donation to Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.
Harris, who is now set to run against Donald Trump, aims to become the first female president, following Joe Biden’s decision not to seek re-election. While endorsed by figures like Biden and Barack Obama, Harris remains a contentious candidate due to her political history.
In July 2024, Hastings donated $7 million to a super PAC supporting Harris, making headlines and stirring controversy among Netflix subscribers.

I canceled Netflix because the co-founder Reed Hastings donated $7 MILLION to Kamala Harris' campaign. I don't support companies that support communists #CancelNetflix pic.twitter.com/lcpgEWrjrg
