Miranda Cosgrove and Pierson Fode have been cast in the lead roles of Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy, "The Wrong Paris," directed by Janeen Damian as reported by Deadline. The film, written by Nicole Henrich, follows Dawn (Cosgrove), who aims to secure a unique art opportunity in France. To reach her goal, she joins a Bachelor-type dating show in Paris, only to find out that the show is actually set in Paris, Texas, as a ratings gimmick. Faced with the risk of missing her dream, Dawn attempts to exit the show, but a genuine romance begins with Trey (Fode), the charming bachelor.
Janeen Damian, known for directing Netflix’s hit "Irish Wish," will also serve as an executive producer alongside Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, Kelly Fraizer, and Galen Fletcher. Brad Krevoy from MPCA and Michael Damian will produce the film.
Cosgrove, who gained early fame on Nickelodeon’s "Drake & Josh" and later "iCarly," recently starred in Netflix’s "Mother of the Bride" alongside Brooke Shields. The film spent five weeks in the Global Top 10 Films (English) and ranked in 92 countries. She also reprised her role as Margo in "Despicable Me 4," which grossed over $580 million worldwide.
Fode is recognized for his roles in "Based on a True Story," "Leverage: Redemption," and "The Man from Toronto." His performance in Netflix’s "The Man from Toronto," featuring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, added to his acclaim.
Damian’s recent projects include the successful Netflix rom-com "Irish Wish," which topped charts in 69 countries. Previously, she directed "Falling for Christmas," also starring Lindsay Lohan.
