The pair’s rendition of ‘Hona Tha Pyar’ has fans distraught

A lucky fan recently got the chance to sing a duet with Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. The video which has since gone viral-adjacent has left die-hard Atif fans feeling distraught and yelling “It could’ve been me!” at the sky.

The clip which is making the rounds on social media shows the singer and his fan, a young woman, standing together singing his hit song, Hona Tha Pyar from his and Mahira Khan’s film Bol.

We know Atif is a beyond talented singer, but the fan manages to hold her own against the vocalist. Her voice is good enough to at least score her a few record deals. As the two took turns singing different parts of the song, fans were quick to pick up on her skill and shared their impressions in the comments section.

“Her voice,” a user commented, followed by a series of cute emojis. Another said, “Her voice is good.” Most just sent a slew of heart and fire emojis under the post, probably speechless at the opportunity this fan had to not only meet, but also sing with their favourite.

While some were unequivocally “happy for her” and named this their “next goal”, others weren’t as subtle when it came to concealing their envy. “I am not watching this video; my heart can’t take it. On top of that, look at the way she’s looking at him,” commented a user.

Another stated, “Atif Aslam be like: where am I stuck?” On the other hand, someone fondly expressed, “Atif, you win hearts, and I already like you.”
