An old video of Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance criticizing Kamala Harris has resurfaced and gone viral on social media. The video, dating back to a 2021 interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, shows Vance making disparaging remarks about Harris and other Democratic leaders.

In the clip, Vance can be heard saying, "We are effectively run in this country, via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too." He further claimed, "It's just a basic fact, if you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC – the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it."
The video gained traction a day after President Joe Biden announced he would not be running for re-election in 2024 and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee. Vance, who was running in the GOP Senate primary in Ohio at the time of the interview, has continued his critical stance against Harris.
During his first solo campaign rally on Monday, Vance labeled Harris "a million times worse" than Biden. He stated, "History will remember Joe Biden as not just a quitter, which he is, but as one of the worst presidents in the history of the United States of America. But my friends, Kamala Harris is a million times worse and everybody knows it. She signed up for every single one of Joe Biden’s failures, and she lied about his mental capacity to serve as president."
Vance also criticized Harris for her role in immigration policies, saying, "The border crisis is a Kamala Harris crisis." He accused Harris of wanting to abolish federal immigration enforcement and domestic police forces.
Harris, 59, previously served as a local prosecutor, California attorney general, and U.S. senator before running for president in 2020 and becoming Biden’s running mate. She has now secured enough delegates to become the Democratic Party's nominee for president.
