ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country on Thursday jumped to 3,215 megawatts (MW) from 2,514MW, as the total power generation was recorded at 13,782MW against the demand of 16,997MW during the last 24 hours. According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management position, hydel power generation stood at 6,080MW, Wapda thermal 1,607MW and IPPs 5,966MW. As many as 680MW of electricity was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report said. Tarbela and Mangla dams have attained their maximum conservation level of 1,550 feet and 1,210 feet, respectively, it said.
