Employees Union: PR management accedes to demands

PR to upgrade the scales of temporary clerical staff, regularise temporary labour staff, fix minimum wages to Rs7,000

LAHORE: The management of Pakistan Railways (PR) has decided to accept the demands of Pakistan Railways Employees (Prem) Union to upgrade the scales of temporary clerical staff, regularise temporary labour staff and fix the minimum wages up to Rs7,000. PR General Manager (Operations) Rana Saeed Akhtar announced this during his meeting with a Prem Union delegation. He welcomed the suggestions put forward by the delegation members and pledged that he would do his best to solve their problems. He also accepted the delegation’s demand to allow free passes to PR employees for all passenger trains, including Karakarum Express, Night Coach Express and other railcars. He said that all cases would be dealt with in accordance with the Supreme Court verdict.
