Britain's Got Talent icons split after a decade of impressing Simon Cowell

Bars and Melody have parted ways after a decade-long collaboration.

The musical duo consisted of rapper Leondre Devries, 23, and singer Charlie Lenehan, 25, who first gained fame on Britain's Got Talent in 2014.

They performed an anti-bullying song inspired by Faith Evans' Hope, which impressed Simon Cowell enough to earn them a Golden Buzzer, sending them directly to the semi-final.

They advanced to the finals, finishing in third place behind opera singer Lucy Kay and the musical theatre group Collabro.

Their debut album 143 reached number four on the charts in 2015, and they released two more albums. On Monday, they announced on social media that they are ending their journey with a farewell tour.

They captioned their post: “The FINAL Tour - A celebration to end an ERA. We love you forever.”

In the video, Charlie said: “It's time for one last adventure together. We want to thank you for all the love and support over the years. You've been the best fans that anyone could ask for.”

"We've been working on some new surprises for this tour, we cannot wait to share this final chapter.”

The duo sat in a studio for the video, joking that it had been a long time since they'd been on camera.

Their announcement included clips from their concerts filled with cheering fans, followed by the display of new tour dates.

Their farewell tour will occur in September, spanning 13 dates.

Five of these shows will be in the UK, the others in Europe, with the final concert in Japan's capital city.

During their audition, they bonded with the judges, even admitting to having crushes on Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, earning them a standing ovation.

After their performance, Simon Cowell expressed confidence that their song could become a hit.
