The buzz surrounding the arrest of Pakistan’s legendary singer and qawwali maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan at Dubai Airport has been put to rest.
The iconic singer cleared the air through an Instagram post on Monday, stating that he was not arrested but merely underwent standard airport checks and routine questioning.
Rahat assured fans that he is now back to his work commitments.
According to the singer, the Dubai authorities had received questioning requests, which he maintained could be submitted by anyone.
Meanwhile, music director Farooq Rao confirmed that Rahat is in Dubai for his music recordings.
Media reports suggest that Rahat’s former manager, Salman Ahmed, had filed complaints against him with the Dubai authorities.
This comes after a professional fallout a few months ago, where both Rahat and Salman lodged legal cases against each other following the manager’s dismissal.
The legendary singer said his fans should not pay heed to "baseless, and petty" news. The singer added that he will be back in Pakistan soon and will release songs.
