Four die as van falls into ravine

RAWALPINDI:

A passenger van fell into a deep ravine near Silha Soor in the Kahuta area of Rawalpindi, under the jurisdiction of Kahuta police station.

The accident resulted in the deaths of four passengers, including three women, and injuries to 10 others, including two children.

According to the police, the van was travelling from Sore towards Kahuta when it went out of control and plunged into the ravine.

The deceased were identified as 65-year-old Maqsood Bibi, 60-year-old Khurshid Begum, 40-year-old Rukia Bibi, and 46-year-old Shafiullah. Among the 10 injured passengers, two are reported to be in critical condition.

Upon receiving the information, DSP and SHO Kahuta arrived at the scene with a police team. With the assistance of Rescue 1122 and rescue workers, the deceased and injured were extracted and transported to the hospital.
