Karachi rejoices as much-needed rain brings relief from heat and humidity

The port city is treated to much-needed rainfall, bringing relief to its residents after enduring restless heat and humidity.

The rain, which began in the afternoon, spread across various parts of the city, including Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Scheme 33, Quaidabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Jamal, and Surjani Town.

In the next 24 hours, light winds from different directions are expected to blow across the city.

The maximum temperature is likely to range between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius and the weather is expected to remain hot until Monday, with a decrease in heat intensity anticipated from Tuesday onward.

The PMD earlier forecasted that there are chances of light rain to heavy downpours in the financial hub as there is a likelihood of thundercell formation in the city's north, west, and east.

The PMDA too has issued warnings to Sindh and Punjab of potential flash floods in various cities across both provinces, as heavy monsoon rains are expected from Monday to Thursday.
