It's been over six years since singer Timothy Heller accused fellow musician Melanie Martinez of abuse and assault. Now she is making more accusations.

In December 2017, Heller returned to X to share her story and publicly accuse Martinez of s***** assault. She described Martinez as her "best friend" but pointed out how Martinez's "power and control over [her] grew and grew."

She mentioned that during a sleepover, the subject of her "s***** preferences" came up, and Martinez repeatedly asked her to have s**, to which she "said no." Despite her continuous requests to just go to sleep, Heller noted that Martinez persistently "begged to just touch" her breasts and "the rest of [her]."

Heller emphasized that she "never said yes" and "said no, repeatedly," expressing her shock at being "m******* by [her] best friend." She made it clear that she refused the advances over the course of two nights while Martinez persisted.

Martinez responded to the allegations on X, stating that  "she never said no to what [they] chose to do together" and asserting that she "would never be intimate with someone without their absolute consent."

In response, Heller told Newsweek that she repeatedly rejected the advances and highlighted that Martinez tried to contact both her and her boyfriend multiple times after the allegations were made public.

Explanation of Timothy Heller's 2024 statement

In July 2024, Timothy Heller reignited the discussion about her s***** assault allegations with a TikTok statement, explaining how she was "effectively run off the internet" after sharing her experience with Melanie Martinez.

Heller maintained that she was neither proven to have lied about nor admitted to lying about the allegations she made during the MeToo movement.

The singer explained that Martinez's claim of "she never said no to what [they] chose to do together" was "quite validating" for her, as it demonstrated that Martinez "doesn't know how consent works."

She continued by mentioning that in an interview with the Daily Mail, she provided a date for the s*****  assault incident. This led Martinez's fans to dig through old posts from both singers and find that they were in different states at that time.

The finding was sufficient for many to dismiss Heller's claims and inundate her with negative comments. She then talked about receiving the usual "f*** the haters" advice but found it difficult to cope with the continued backlash.

Heller mentioned that she was "excessive gaslit into thinking [she] was a bad person" and her mental health deteriorated as a result of the persistent negativity.
