LHC’s verdict to release Sanam challenged

print-news
LAHORE:

The Punjab government moved the Supreme Court Lahore Registry challenging Lahore High Court's decision to discharge Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s worker Sanam Javed.

The appeal was filed seeking to overturn the ruling made by a two-member bench headed by Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural.

The LHC had previously ordered the release of Sanam Javed, citing insufficient evidence to proceed with the charges related to the events of May 9.

The Punjab government argues that the High Court's decision to discharge Javed was premature and seeks a review by the Supreme Court to ensure a thorough examination of the charges against her.
