Rs8.5b uplift schemes okayed

ISLAMABAD:

The Development Working Party (DWP) of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) approved four projects worth Rs8.5 billion in its 70th meeting. CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa chaired the meeting which was attended by senior officers.

The PC-1 for a total of Rs 4.56b was approved for the project of two underpasses on Serena Chowk Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy and Convention Center Srinagar Highway.

The project, which is set to break ground in August as instructed by the prime minister, will involve the construction of three loops along Srinagar Highway, underpasses on both sides of Serena Chowk, and significant upgrades to Suhrawardy Road. The projects are expected to be completed within a tight timeline of six months.

The DWP has approved the PC-1 of the project which aims at alleviating traffic congestion on Jinnah Avenue and 9th Avenue.
