Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Thursday stated that the Constitution permitted the appointment of ad hoc judges.
The Supreme Court is considering the appointment of retired judges to decide over 54,000 pending cases. The Judicial Comm¬ission of Pakistan will meet on Friday (today) to deliberate on the appointment of four retired judges as ad hoc members of the court. In a statement, the law minister maintained that the Constitution allowed the appointment of ad hoc judges.
On the issue of imposing Article 6 on PTI leaders, Tarar noted that the matter could be brought to parliament for debate.
