In a recent episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Dinner’s on Me podcast, the actor reminisced with Jane Krakowski about their serendipitous meeting years ago at a Starbucks in New York City. Ferguson, known for his role in "Modern Family," shared the story of how Krakowski, star of "30 Rock," recognized him as her barista.

The encounter unfolded when Ferguson, then a barista at a Starbucks on 79th and Broadway, encountered Krakowski, who frequented the establishment. He recalled how Krakowski approached him with familiarity, initially confusing him as she embraced him warmly.

"You walk right over to me, and you're like, how are you? How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while. And you give me a great big hug," Ferguson recounted on the podcast. "Meanwhile, I'm thinking, I do not know this woman. I know who you are. I was a fan."

Krakowski, known for her roles on Broadway and television, seemed puzzled herself, attempting to place Ferguson from memory. "I was like, maybe we did a commercial together and we're trying to, like, place it. And you're like, well, I don't know. I'll figure it out later. But it was good to see you. Thanks for coming," Ferguson said, reflecting on the amusing encounter.

Despite the initial confusion, Ferguson expressed gratitude for Krakowski's genuine interest in his life outside of his barista job. "You know, every actor understands you do what you need to do to, like, make ends meet. I felt so seen by you," he acknowledged.

The conversation between Ferguson and Krakowski underscored the supportive nature of the Broadway community, with Ferguson noting how their interaction left a lasting impact on him. "That was one of the first times that I felt like, oh, the Broadway community is actually a community of people," he said.

Krakowski, reminiscing about her visits to the Starbucks near her Broadway theater, reflected on recognizing Ferguson from his regular presence there. "I remember coming in, and every morning, I'd order my coffee. And I guess just at the backstage of the theater, I knew I knew you because it's such a familiar person that you get to know every single morning,” she shared.

The podcast episode provided a glimpse into the unexpected connections and supportive relationships within the entertainment industry, highlighting Ferguson and Krakowski's enduring friendship that stemmed from a chance encounter at a local coffee shop.

The episode featuring their conversation can be listened to on Ferguson's podcast, offering fans and listeners a heartwarming tale of two stars' unlikely connection in the heart of New York City.
