In a recent heartwarming revelation, Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan has shared that he maintains a warm camaraderie with several of his Indian collaborators, including his Ae Dil Hai Mushkil co-star Ranbir Kapoor and ace filmmakers Karan Johar and Shakun Batra. Despite the geopolitical tensions that have kept him away from Bollywood since his 2016 hit, Fawad’s friendships across the border have stood the test of time.
“We end up talking on chat or on call so I’ve stayed in touch and enjoyed a very good relationship with the Kapoor family,” Fawad told Pinkvilla, reminiscing about the good times. “There’s still a lot of love and respect even with Karan and Shakun. So, there are friendships. There are some Indian producer friends with whom I chat sometimes too. We plan to meet somewhere… So on and off, we talk. We’re still very cordial and there’s no love lost.”
When quizzed about his interest in Ranbir’s controversial blockbuster Animal, Fawad confessed, “I am yet to watch it, but I do want to. It is on Netflix, but I couldn’t so far. Everyone has been recommending it to me.”
While Bollywood might be missing his charm, Fawad is set to mesmerise audiences with his next project, Barzakh. Directed by Asim Abbasi, this Zee Zindagi original sees Fawad reunite with his Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed. The show, set in the stunning Hunza Valley, tells the tale of a 76-year-old recluse who invites his estranged family to his wedding with the ghost of his first love.
Aside from that, Fawad is set to make a triumphant return to Bollywood after an eight-year hiatus. Known for his magnetic charm and acting prowess, actor will star in a romantic comedy alongside the effervescent Vaani Kapoor.
According to Filmfare, the film will be directed by the talented Aarti Bagdi of Bombairiya fame and is already generating buzz on the internet. Reportedly set against the picturesque backdrop of London, the film’s production details are being guarded like state secrets. As per insiders, the producers are keen on keeping the project tightly under wraps, teasing fans with tantalising glimpses of what’s to come.
With shooting slated to commence soon, the air is thick with anticipation as fans speculate about the plot and character dynamics. Fawad’s popularity knows no bounds, especially among South Asian audiences, thanks to his memorable roles in Bollywood hits like Khoobsurat, Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. His on-screen chemistry and nuanced performances have won him a dedicated fanbase, eager to see him weave his magic on the big screen once again.
