UFC President Dana White has commended former President Donald Trump for his resilience following a recent shooting incident at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. White, who has had a longstanding friendship with Trump, spoke highly of the former president's strength and character.
On the Pat McAfee Show, White praised Trump as one of the "toughest, most resilient human beings" he has ever met. He shared that he called Trump shortly after the shooting and was deeply impressed by Trump's fortitude during their thirty-minute conversation.
White was moved by Trump's response to the shooting and highlighted the former president's determined spirit, including his gesture of raising his fist and shouting "fight" three times.
He also addressed rumours that Trump might attend UFC Denver, stating that they were unfounded.
Additionally, White provided an update on the anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, noting that no new date has been set for the bout.
White expressed enthusiasm for the fight but acknowledged that it remains unscheduled.

Previously, on a July 13 afternoon, Thomas Mathew Crooks was able to slip onto a rooftop location 150 yards (140 meters) from the stage where Trump was speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania. He then began firing an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle, purchased by his father, officials said.
The gunfire killed a 50-year-old man, critically wounded two other spectators, and struck Trump's ear.
The officials said "a suspicious device" was found in the suspect's vehicle, which was inspected by bomb technicians and rendered safe.
As a resident of Bethel Park, about an hour away from where the shooting occurred, Crooks was a registered Republican who would have been eligible to cast his first presidential vote in the Nov. 5 election.
