KARACHI:

The much-anticipated wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant finally kicked off on Friday at the World Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. The venue was chock-full with well-dressed celebrities from across the globe making their entrance. One of the early arrivals who truly stole the show was none other than WWE superstar John Cena, who left fans in a craze with his traditional Indian attire.

John Cena, known worldwide for his wrestling persona, surprised everyone by donning an ice blue sherwani by none other than Manish Malhotra, as per PinkVilla. This elegant garment, complete with cream-coloured floral details near the shoulder area, is a staple in Indian men’s formal wear. The look accentuated Cena’s imposing physique and instantly set the internet ablaze. Fans couldn’t stop gushing over his transformation into a desi avatar, with social media platforms flooded with admiring comments and memes celebrating his look.

“Cena should wear more Indian ethnic wear,” an Instagram user commented. Another wrote, “He looks so good in a pastel kurta.”

One enthusiastic user on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed their excitement with humour, saying, “I want to see him do an Attitude Adjustment (John Cena’s signature move) on Ambani. That would be cool!” The playful remarks continued as fans couldn’t help but recall Cena’s signature “You can’t see me” catchphrase in jest, with one user commenting, “I can’t see anyone? Who are the paps shouting at?” The wrestler also acted out the move on the carpet.

The fun didn’t stop there. A viral video later showed John Cena sporting a pagdi, a traditional headgear worn by men in parts of India. This intricate turban, made from a long piece of cloth, added an extra touch of authenticity to Cena’s traditional look, further endearing him to his Indian fans.
