Kid Rock's $50K donation tops contributions to Pennsylvania Donald Trump rally shooting victims

Other contributions include Vivek Ramaswamy with $30,000, and media personality Ben Shapiro who donated $15,000.

According to a list of contributors on the fundraising platform, Kid Rock contributed $50,000 to an online campaign aimed at aiding "supporters and families wounded or killed" in the shooting incident at former President Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

By Sunday afternoon, the fundraiser had amassed over $2.3 million in donations, exceeding its initial target of $1 million.

Organizer Meredith O'Rourke stated that the funds would support individuals affected by the shooting, aiding in their recovery and offering assistance to those in mourning.

Among the victims are Corey Comperatore, aged 50, identified by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as someone who shielded his wife and daughter with his body during the shooting.

Two more individuals sustained injuries. During the incident, a bullet reportedly grazed former President Trump's ear while he was on stage.

One of the largest contributions to the fundraiser came from "Kid Rock," who donated $50,000.

Originally from Romeo, Kid Rock shared a link to the fundraiser on his social media pages on Sunday and posted a strongly worded video on Saturday expressing his endorsement of Trump.

Kid Rock's highly effective fundraiser has attracted substantial contributions from prominent figures, such as Ultimate Fighting Championship and its president Dana White, each donating $50,000. Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy contributed $30,000, and conservative media personality Ben Shapiro donated $15,000.

Authorities are treating the shooting at Trump's rally as an attempted assassination and are conducting an investigation into the shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

Crooks fired shots from the roof of a building near the rally location and was subsequently fatally shot by the Secret Service.

According to two former U.S. attorneys from the Eastern District of Michigan, the Secret Service's failure to secure the rally is evident in Crooks' ability to access a nearby roof and attempt the assassination.
