Beverly Hills, 90210 actresses Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are grieving the loss of their co-star Shannen Doherty, who passed away at the age of 53 after battling cancer. 

The news was confirmed by her longtime publicist Leslie Sloane in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, noting that Doherty was surrounded by loved ones, including her dog, Bowie, at the time of her death on Saturday, July 13.

Both Garth, 52, and Spelling, 51, took to Instagram the following day to pay heartfelt tributes to Doherty. Garth, known for her role as Kelly Taylor on the hit 1990s drama, shared nostalgic photos of herself and Doherty, expressing her profound sadness over the loss. 

She described Doherty as one of the strongest people she had ever known, emphasizing their genuine bond built on mutual respect and admiration. Garth highlighted Doherty's courage, passion, determination, and generosity, vowing to cherish her memory deeply.

Spelling, who portrayed Donna Martin on the series, posted a brief tribute on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by a selfie with Doherty and emotive broken heart emojis. She hinted at forthcoming sentiments, underscoring the significance of their shared experiences.

Other co-stars from Beverly Hills, 90210 also paid tribute to Doherty. Jason Priestley, 54, reflected on her vibrant spirit in an Instagram tribute, while Gabrielle Carteris, 63, fondly remembered Doherty's youthfulness and expressed hope that she would find solace with Luke Perry, another beloved co-star who passed away in 2019.

Doherty's legacy extends beyond Beverly Hills, 90210, having also reprised her role in the spinoff 90210 and the reboot BH90210, showcasing her enduring impact on the series and her colleagues.
