Pilgrims’ travel to Iraq discussed

Meeting focused on making the travel to Iraq for religious pilgrimages by Pakistanis easier and more affordable.

Iraqi ambassador to Pakistan, Hamid Abbas Lafta met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain on Sunday and discussed with them ways to improve travel experience for the Pakistani pilgrims visiting Iraq.

The meeting focused on making the travel to Iraq for religious pilgrimages by Pakistanis easier and more affordable. Both sides highlighted the possibility of free entry visas for the Pakistani pilgrims and increasing the number of people allowed to visit each year. The Iraqi ambassador assured his full cooperation in making the travel easier for Pakistani pilgrims and provided a list of travel agents.
