In a bid to enhance transparency and accountability, the Punjab Police Department has launched a province-wide inspection of police facilitation centres, including those in Rawalpindi. The move aims to gather details on revenue collection, expenses, and service quality.
Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar has instructed designated officers to complete the inspection within ten days and submit a detailed report. Separate SSP and SP level police officers have been assigned to each district to conduct the inspections.
The inspection will evaluate the usage of IT-based equipment, staff behaviour, service delivery timelines, quality, and feedback. Officers have been provided with detailed proformas to collect information on staff, facilities, income, and visitor feedback.
The Punjab Police Department is providing various facilities under one roof at police service centers, including Police Character Certificates and General Police Verification, with processing fees set at Rs500 and Rs300, respectively.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has introduced measures to improve public services through Police Service Centres, Mobile Service Centres, and Special Initiative Police Stations.
The inspection will analyse the performance of these public service delivery units based on established parameters.
Designated officers will inspect the centres, evaluate the quality of services, and submit a detailed report to the Central Police Office in Lahore within ten days.
The report will include information on staff, facilities, income, and visitor feedback.
