Security situation reviewed in high-level meeting
A high-level meeting reviewed law and order situation in Balochistan after roadside blast in Quetta’s Akhtarabad area, which claimed the life of a Frontier Corps driver.
The meeting under the chair of Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove was attended by provincial ministers Mir Shoaib Noshirwani and Bakht Mohammad Kakar, IGP Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, Commissioner Hamza Shafqat, DG Levies Naseebullah Kakar and DIG CTD Aitzaz Goraya.
Officials provided a detailed briefing on the current law and order situation in Quetta. They reported incidents where demonstrators had damaged government properties, CCTV cameras and police vehicles. The meeting participants’ reiterated the commitment to negotiations and discussions, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with protestors. They stated that all avenues for dialogue remained open and condemned the recent attack on a security forces vehicle in Quetta.
The officials acknowledged the sacrifices made by security forces in the fight against terrorism and urged to be vigilant against masked miscreants who may be targeting government property and forces during protests.
