RAWALPINDI:

A dignified ceremony was organised in collaboration with Voice of Writers at the Punjab Arts Council to honor the eminent poet, journalist, and creator of the poetry collection "Haal-e-Dil Zaar," Ali Asghar Samar.

The event was presided over by the country's renowned poet and writer Naseem Sehar, with Khawar Ejaz and Qayyum Tahir as special guests, and Ziauddin Naeem, Qazi Arif Hussain, and Dr Agha Shuja as distinguished guests.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by the well-known poet of Saraiki and Urdu, Dr Syed Munir Kazmi. This was followed by a Naat (a poem in praise of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH) presented by Pakistan's award-winning Naat Khawan and poet, Syed Kamran Shah Kazmi. Qari Abdul Jaleel Farooqi recited a Naat written by Ali Asghar Samar.

The event was hosted by Ubaid Bazgh Amar. Due to time constraints, Khalid Bhotral, Shahid Hanif, Naseem Iqbal Malik, and Irfan Khan limited themselves to dedicating their respective essays and poems to the guest of honor. Those who expressed their views and read essays included Raja Abdul Qayyum, Tajammul Shah, Tariq Masood, Qazi Arif Hussain, and Jamal Zaidi.
