A case has been registered against unidentified individuals following the traffic death of seven-year-old Muntaha Adeel, who was killed when a kite string slit her throat in the limits of Khanna police station on Tuesday. SHO Zahid Hussain Shah has been suspended for negligence related to this incident.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi took notice of the incident, addressing the ongoing issue of kite-flying and the illegal sale of metal cords despite a ban. Later, the police conducted raids at 49 locations, resulting in the arrest of 24 individuals. The incident highlighted not only the police’s ineptitude but also the assistant commissioner’s negligence. If the police had enforced the district administration’s orders, the young girl’s life could have been saved.
