Huma Abedin’s ex-husband, disgraced politician Anthony Weiner, told Page Six he is "thrilled" for Abedin following her engagement to billionaire Alex Soros.

Page Six exclusively reported on Wednesday that Soros proposed six weeks ago, and the couple celebrated the joyous occasion in Italy.

“I’m thrilled for Huma,” Weiner told us via email when asked to comment on the engagement. “They are remarkable people and I wish them much happiness.”

Following the story, Soros shared a photo on Instagram of his romantic proposal.

A friend of Abedin's for over 15 years spoke to Page Six about the engaged couple, “The best way I can describe the relationship is effortless.”

The source also commented on the engaged couple, “After a lot of tumultuous years for Huma, she’s relaxed and happy and in love.”

Abedin, 47, Hillary Clinton's former chief of staff, recounted in her 2021 memoir how her ideal life was shattered when Weiner, the former congressman from Queens, confessed to the 2011 sexting scandal that ultimately led to his downfall.

“Just like that, life as I knew it was officially over,” she wrote in the book, which was titled “Both/And: A Life in Many Words.”

Weiner's political career—and his marriage—were ultimately destroyed by additional revelations of his habitual sexting, which led to his imprisonment for sending explicit texts to an underage girl.

He notoriously used the alias “Carlos Danger” while sexting some of his correspondents.

Since 2019, Weiner has explored various professional roles, including crisis PR consultant, CEO of a Brooklyn glass company, and local NYC radio host, a position he secured in February 2022.
