CM Maryam Nawaz takes notice of assault on anchorperson Ayesha Jehanzeb

SSP Anush asserted that violence against women will not be tolerated under any circumstances

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the recent assault on prominent anchorperson Ayesha Jehanzeb by her husband.

According to reports, Ayesha Jehanzeb met with SSP Investigation Lahore, Dr Anush Masood Chaudhary, at her office.

During the meeting, Dr Anush Masood assured Ayesha of complete justice, stating, "Women are our red line, and violence against them will not be tolerated under any circumstances." She emphasized that protecting both working and domestic women is a top priority.

Dr Anush disclosed that Ayesha's husband, Haris Ali, has been arrested. The SSP further assured that a strong case will be prepared to ensure he receives severe punishment. "We are tirelessly working day and night to ensure the safety and security of our citizens," she added.

Ayesha Jehanzeb filed a complaint against her husband at Sarwar Road Police Station the previous day, alleging that her husband had assaulted her multiple times, causing injuries, and had threatened her with a pistol to her temple. The anchorperson also claimed that on the day of the incident, her husband not only assaulted her but also their children.

Ayesha further revealed that she had made significant efforts to save her marriage, but her husband's secret marriage and subsequent assaults had caused her severe injuries.
