A female tourist from Karachi suffered a fall while parasailing at the Orange Resort and Water Sports Club in Khanpur Dam, resulting in a leg fracture.
The Khanpur Rescue 1122 team quickly responded and transported her to Khanpur THQ Hospital for immediate medical attention.
According to eyewitnesses, he took a woman parasailing despite the water sports company's reservations about the parasailor's competence. Shortly after takeoff, her parasail collided with another, causing the woman's parasail to collapse under pressure. She fell 30 feet to the ground, breaking her leg.
According to local sources, the regulatory body responsible for overseeing water sports is more focused on making money than ensuring safety, leading to a surge in accidents that have become a daily occurrence. Despite the frequency of incidents, with dozens happening every week, no effective prevention strategy has been implemented.
Training centres were established in the name of sports clubs. Many cases go unreported, and sportsmen and women are even forced to sign confidential documents waiving their right to make claims in the event of an accident.
This lack of accountability has created a "state of lawlessness," where negligence and corruption thrive, putting tourists' lives at risk.
