SHC notifies parties in PTI plea against election results

The Election Tribunal in the Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to the parties, seeking their responses to the appeals filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates.

In the Sindh High Court's Election Tribunal, Shujaat Ali Advocate, representing Constituency NA-243 Keamari, presented a list of legal points in his appeal against Abdul Qadir Patel. The tribunal adjourned the hearing until August 6, ordering Patel to condense and submit his responses to the points raised. Additionally, the tribunal heard the appeal of PTI's Saleh Zada from constituency PS-118.

In the Sindh High Court's Election Tribunal, the counsel for the appellant presented a compelling case, stating that Naseer Ahmed of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was declared MPA with a mere 800 votes, while PTI secured over 10,000 votes, as evidenced by Form 45. The tribunal issued a notice to the parties. On the appeal of PTI's Salehzada from PS-118, the tribunal issued a notice to the parties by August 2 and sought their response. Additionally, the tribunal heard PTI's Ghulam Qadir's election excuse petition from PS-113 Kaemari, where the appellant's counsel alleged that despite winning as per Form 45, the Returning Officer (RO) manipulated the results in Form 47. The tribunal directed the respondents to submit their replies at the next hearing.

Advocate Shujaat Ali argued that representatives declared successful through Form 47 are not truly representative of the people and cannot effectively address the nation's problems. Only real representatives of the people can deal with the problems facing the nation. Expressing confidence in the judiciary, he stated, 'We have full faith in the courts, and we are certain that the malicious decisions made by the RO will be overturned.'"
