Hillary Clinton, Boris Johnson expected to attend Anant Ambani's wedding

The high-profile event will also see attendance of Asia’s second-richest tycoon, Gautam Adani, on July 12

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson are among the high-profile guests expected to attend the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani.

The event, reported by Bloomberg, is set to draw around 1,200 guests on 12 July.

The wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will also see the attendance of Asia’s second-richest tycoon, Gautam Adani.

The guest invitations were unique, coming in the form of miniature temples.

The celebration is highlighted by a variety of culinary delights curated by Nita Ambani, featuring Indian street food specialities such as aloo tikki, tomato chaat, palak chaat, chana kachori, and kulfi from chefs in Varanasi.

The events underscore the immense wealth of Asia's tycoons and the ongoing wealth transfer to their heirs.

Mukesh Ambani, with a net worth of about $120 billion, is ranked 11th in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The wedding festivities have already begun with traditional ceremonies.

The 'Sangeet' (musical ceremony) featured a performance by pop star Justin Bieber, reportedly paid $10 million for the event.

A 'Haldi' ceremony on Monday saw attendance from Bollywood celebrities and close family.

Designer Manish Malhotra shared images of Nita Ambani’s traditional outfit, while Isha Ambani also donned traditional attire.

Earlier celebrations included a three-day event in March featuring Rihanna, and a luxury cruise in May with performances by Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli.

The Ambani family also hosted a mass wedding for 50 underprivileged couples last week.

Previous events saw Beyonce perform at Isha Ambani's wedding in 2018 and Chris Martin of Coldplay at Akash and Shloka's pre-wedding affair.
