PM felicitates Christian officer Julian James on his promotion to rank of major general

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated an officer of the Pakistan Army belonging to the Christian community, Julian Moazzam James, on his promotion to the rank of major general.

The prime minister expressed his good wishes to Major General James for his future, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

Major General James’s professional capabilities and his hard work and passion had been a beacon of guidance for the young generation, he added.

The prime minister further said that the contributions of the Christian community for the progress and prosperity and defence of the country were unforgettable. 

In June, Colonel Dr Helen Mary Robert made history as the first Christian woman to be promoted to the rank of brigadier in the Pakistan Army.

A pathologist in the Pakistan Army Medical Corps, Col. Dr Helen Mary has dedicated 26 years to serving her country.

Colonel Dr Helen Meri considered it an honour to serve the country and the nation while living in the Pakistan Army.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) lauded her achievement, stating, "Colonel Dr Helen Mary is a living example of merit without distinction in the Pakistan Army."

Col. Dr Helen Mary's promotion has been seen as a beacon of hope for the Pakistani Christian community. The ISPR noted that she exemplifies the principles of merit and national representation within the military.
