Aisam and Rohan drop out of Wimbledon

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Rohan Bopanna lost to their opponents in the Wimbledon quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Pakistani tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Indian doubles partner Rohan Bopanna lost to their opponents Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner with 6-4, 7-6, 6-2  in the Wimbledon men's doubles quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Reaching the quarter-finals was the best ever performance for either Aisam-ul-Haq or Rohan Bopanna.

The duo had been nicknamed 'The Indo-Pak Express' on the ATP World Tour.

At Wimbledon they have been seen practising with 'Stop War Start Tennis' track suit tops as a sign of peace amidst troubled times in their region.

Last week, Rohan Bopanna was nominated as a Champion for Peace by an international organisation under the patronage of Prince Albert of Monaco.

The pair say that they are now trying to organise a friendly tennis match at the Wagah border, the only overland checkpoint on the frontier between India and Pakistan.
